What a weekend! It was my birthday weekend (YAY me!). I am now officially a quarter of a century. So for my birthday, by girlfriends took me out to eat. We went to Moxie's Grill & Bar in Moncton. It was my 3rd time at Moxies. My other experiences were quite pleasant, but my friends are not usually very keen of the environment. I think it's okay, if not for a little too high class. We usually like to laugh out loud and we're not the most fancy of people. Therefore we usually prefer to go to more casual places. However, since it was my birthday, we decided to give it another try. After all, the food is pretty good.
So yesterday, after having dyed my hair ombré red with Elumen, we went to Moxies!
The waitress first asked if we wanted drinks, which we all did. She told us the specials and then my friend asked how much it was for a mojito. She said it was 4.99$. I gasped at the cheapness of the drink and immediately said I wanted one. After she saw my reaction she said "oh well that's the price of the drink when they are drink-of-the-day. I'm not sure what the regular price is". ....... OH! cuz that's really helpful to me. Anyway it was my birthday so I decided to take the 7$ drink anyway!
After that, my friend and I decided to split a bruschetta appetizer. We all got out drinks (the mojito wasn't nearly as good as the first time I had it) and since I was starving and impatient, I was wondering where the damn app was. About 15 minutes later, the waitress arrives at our table in a panic, starts talking to us in French (we were being served in English before since one of us is only English) and asked if we wanted our appetizers before the meals because the meals were almost ready................. Do I even have to explain why that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever? Anyway for the two of us that didn't order an app, she brought the meals at the same time as our bruschetta. The bruschetta was amazing, but that's beside the point.
I also had some trouble with ordering the meal. I wanted linguini with Alfredo sauce and shrimp. They had an Alfredo penne with chicken. I'm trying to become a vegetarian - mostly because, according to the blood type diet, I can eat nothing but turkey and like rabbit - so I didn't want the chicken, and I prefer linguini noodle. AND, I had already gone there and asked to substitute the penne for the linguini and it was fine. So this waitress made a whole show of it and said that there was another meal that was crab and shrimp linguini with some other sauce that I could order. That meal was 22$, the other one was 17... I didn't need the crab. Anyway I ended up taking that because she was too stupid to understand what I wanted. And I was right, the crab wasn't really good in it and I could have done without it.
And lastly, this really gorgeous guy arrives to the table to bring the bread for my pasta. I don't know if it's because when he arrived at the table we all stopped talking and stared, but he dropped the plate and the bread fell on the table and he picked it up with his hands... and said "It's okay, I just washed my hands." And because he was so cute, no one said anything! lol
Anyway I don't think I'll be going there again. We went a couple of times because the food was really good, but the service is not great. On top of that the people that go there are really to fancy for us. I rather stay home, drink my cheap wine and eat my pasta. The meal we had Saturday night was wayyyy better than that!

Happy belated birthday! Your hair looks great and I really like the GoodReads widget you included. I'll have to snag some YA ideas from you.
