Multimedia

This week's theme for the 23 Things NB is multimedia. I guess I do know some stuff about online videos. I mostly use YouTube to watch music videos (yes Eminem, thank you!) or how-to stuff. It's actually pretty interesting what you can find on there. My friend had this crazy idea that instead of buying Christmas gifts to everyone, she wanted to crochet scarves... oh ok.. why don't you do that dear! Anyway that didn't last, but I remember being at her house. I was working on homework and she was on YouTube on her iPhone with the how-to video on how to crochet a scarf. It was pretty helpful too.. except that scarf never got finished!

She also uses YouTube for make-up tutorials. I say she because it's things that I would like to use YouTube for, but I just don't have the time (ok fine let's be honest, the patience) to sit there and watch a video on how to put on my makeup. I usually just do a quick search on Pinterest for contouring and follow the instructions on the picture instead of the video. Here's an example of a tutorial on contouring (which I actually think is very cool!):

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not one to watch very many videos at all. When my friends send me a link saying "watch this video it's sooooo funny" I usually don't bother. There only ONE video that a friend sent me that made me laugh so hard. I don't really know why, but I guess I'll share it. It's this girl that sings a song about a shark attach in another language. Here it is:

I also used YouTube to upload a few videos a couple of years ago. My boyfriend, best friend and I went to an Eminem concert in Montreal and we took a couple of videos (before one of the bouncers told us to stop -.-). One of them was actually pretty good. So I followed the instructions on YouTube and uploaded it. It worked out pretty well and everything, but I was a little disappointed by the view count. My video was just as good as the other ones that were online! I also played around with a movie maker, just the free one that came with my Mac. See I'm a little crazy. I have this huuuuuge collection of Eminem stuff. Anyway I was playing around on YouTube once looking for people who also had collections to see if there were things out there that I didn't know existed. I found this really cool video where the person had taken a picture of everything he had in the collection and made a sort of slide show with music and everything. Then I had this idea that I wanted to do the same thing. A friend of my came to my house and we took pictures of everything. It was really fun! Then I wanted to do a sort of slide show. I kind of forgot about it actually and never really finished it. It was neat what I could do though: make the pictures move, add music, add videos. Hmmm I might do it again one day, when I have more time! :)

So that is my extent of knowledge on multimedia. I enjoy videos, but don't really spend too much time on YouTube. It's not really worth much anymore anyway since most of the stuff that's on TV has copyrights and does not stay for very long! -.-
